By Sol First off I'd like to say the sizing isn't very accurate. It says Med. size 8-14 but it's too big for a size 8, it's more of a size 10-14, however I bought this costume depending on the height. I'm 5'6'' 140lbs and I find it difficult to bend down while wearing this size med. I decided to but a petticoat to wear under it to solve that issue. If you're thinking of something to jazz it up a petticoat would poof it out and make it look even cuter! I got my petticoat in a baby pink color to match the pink bows. The small size ranges from a height of 5'4'' to 5'6'' and the med. ranges from 5'6'' to 5'8''-ish. If i had gotten the small version of this I don't think i'd be able to bend over at the very least...let alone reach up.
The shoulder straps are adjustable to fit your body shape. They came all wrinkled up because of the packaging but I just simply ironed it out. However make sure the iron is on low/medium heat. You dont want to ruin the ribbon. I am a dress size 6 and all I really needed to do is take in the sides (an inch and a half on each side) to form fit my body well. The sleeves that come with the med. size fit me pretty snug (it fits well but a bit tighter than I would like, I can still wear it comfortably though). The neck bow tie that come with it is adjustable with velcro at the back. It was a little loose for me so I had to self adjust that too. The fur on the costume is very soft but be gentle with it as some tends to fall off here and there. The headband that comes with it falls off my head a bit because the material is so soft and I have straight hair. I'd need to incorporate it into my hair or find a way to pin it in. The ears tend to flop downwards, I wanted it staying up so I adjust it myself (again).
The bows are made of something similar to satin and they come scrunched up. In order to bring it to life again I just took a curling iron and put it on medium and use it for the loops. Don't use it when it's too hot because the ribbon itself will get damaged and melt. The skirt part of the costume is very girly, lots of material and just moves with you as you walk. You may even think of wearing sheer baby pink or nude stockings to wear under it.
It's one of the cutest bear costumes I've found online and I had bought this costume for $24.99 on amazon, other site sell it for way more! so worth it! I'd recommend people buy this but be wary of the amount of little adjustments you'd have to make, but which costume doesn't need a little adjustment here and there? It's very simple and has a huge payoff. One thing to definetly keep in mind is that you should buy this costume depending on how tall you are, your height, ex: 5'6'', 5'4'',... and from there you can easily take in sides. All in all please dont be scared about all the adjustments, they're so easy and simple, I just wanted to let you know the details. It's a great costume. Happy Costume Shopping!!!
